Key Program Outcomes: Graduates will master non-invasive cardiac procedures including echocardiography, treadmill testing, and Holter monitoring under cardiologist supervision, assist in cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures, operate specialized cardiac diagnostic equipment, and qualify as certified cardiovascular technologists with expertise in comprehensive cardiac care support.
Curriculum: The program covers essential subjects including Basic Sciences (Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology & Pathophysiology, Microbiology, Pharmacology & Therapeutics), ECG interpretation and advanced electrocardiography, Echocardiography techniques, Holter monitoring systems, and comprehensive Cardiac Catheterization procedures including Pacing & Electrophysiology.
Training Approach: Interactive theoretical lectures with tutorials and seminars, extensive hands-on practical sessions in cardiac laboratories, structured clinical postings covering Echocardiography (4 months), ECG-Holter monitoring (4-6 months), and Cardiac Catheterization laboratory training (4-6 months per year), with a minimum of 240 working days annually and mandatory rotating internship for comprehensive clinical exposure.

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent, having minimum 80% marks.
The selection of students for the BCVT course is strictly on merit basis as decided by the competent authority approved by the Government of Kerala/Kerala University of Health Sciences.
A candidate on admission to the BCVT course shall apply to the university for registration.
