The Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology-Biochemistry is a two-year professional postgraduate degree program affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), designed to provide specialized advanced training in biochemical laboratory sciences for BSc MLT graduates. This comprehensive program combines intensive theoretical knowledge with extensive practical training to develop expert medical laboratory technologists capable of leading specialized biochemistry laboratories and advancing healthcare delivery systems.

Curriculum: The program covers 6 specialized papers including General Biochemistry & Chemistry of Biomolecules, Enzymology & Metabolism with Inborn Errors of Metabolism, Vitamins & Hormones, General Physiology & Nutrition with Mineral Metabolism, Molecular Biology & Immunology, Diagnostic Biochemistry with Recent Advances in Clinical Chemistry & Biostatistics, and mandatory dissertation work. The curriculum emphasizes health administration, leadership, quality assurance, management, and health informatics in biochemical contexts.
Training Approach: Intensive didactic lectures with discussions, weekly seminars and journal clubs, case presentations, group discussions and review clubs, tutorials and teaching programs for BSc MLT/DMLT students, minimum 6 seminar presentations and 6 journal club presentations per student, clinical laboratory practices in hospital biochemistry subspecialties, and specialized training visits to reputed national and international institutions covering molecular biology, advanced analytical techniques, and clinical chemistry innovations.
