The Master of Physiotherapy in Neurology is a specialized two-year postgraduate program designed to enhance individual competence in advanced neurological physiotherapeutic practice. Key Program Outcomes: Graduates will master advanced knowledge of human body mechanics and physiotherapeutic sciences relevant to neurological conditions, develop expertise in movement dysfunction assessment and evidence-based management for neurological disorders, acquire specialized skills in comprehensive physiotherapy evaluation using current neurophysiotherapeutic concepts, demonstrate proficiency in planning and implementing therapeutic interventions for neurological conditions across acute and chronic phases including critical care, cultivate self-directed learning abilities with continuous education awareness, develop teaching competencies for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and gain managerial and administrative skills with understanding of disability compensation legislation and quality care concepts.


Curriculum: The program encompasses specialized subjects including Advanced Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology, Neurological Physiotherapy, Movement Dysfunction Analysis, Evidence-Based Neurological Practice, Advanced Neurological Assessment Techniques, Neurorehabilitation Interventions, Therapeutic Exercise for Neurological Conditions, Electrotherapy in Neurology, Research Methodology, Teaching Methodology, Healthcare Management, and Quality Care Implementation at institutional and community levels.


Training Approach: The first year focuses on refreshing theoretical foundations of fundamental physiotherapy subjects, while the second year emphasizes neurological clinical conditions, advanced assessment techniques, and specialized neurological interventions. Students undergo clinical postings in neurological and neurosurgical departments, with additional rotations at reputed national centers for comprehensive exposure. The learning methodology includes interactive seminars, journal reviews, case presentations, case discussions, classroom teaching, mandatory research project with dissertation, and encouraged participation in conferences and workshops.
