KMCT College of Allied Health Sciences observed World Organ Donation Day on 13th August 2025 with the theme “Answering the Call”. The program was jointly organized by IQAC, the Departments of BCVT & CPT, and the Students’ Union with the objective of raising awareness about the importance of organ donation and to inspire students and faculty to contribute to this noble cause.
The session commenced with a warm welcome address by the organizing committee, highlighting the significance of World Organ Donation Day. The resource person, Dr. Abdul Jaleel, Assistant Professor and Cardiothoracic Surgeon at KMCT Medical College, delivered an insightful and inspiring talk on organ donation. He explained the medical, ethical, and social aspects of organ transplantation, clarified misconceptions, and stressed the role of youth in spreading awareness. The interactive session encouraged active participation from students, who engaged with thought-provoking questions and reflections on the life-saving potential of organ donation.
The program successfully enhanced the understanding of students regarding the importance of organ donation. Participants gained clarity on the procedures, challenges, and societal benefits of organ donation. The session fostered a spirit of social responsibility and encouraged students to contribute positively towards healthcare awareness campaigns.
